PROLOSED

TRANSFER OF THE

OVERNMENT WIRELESS STATION IN HONG KONG TO IMPERIAL AND

INTERNATIONAL

COMAMAICATIONS LIMITED.

(1.0.0. 1528.)

2.

THE COMMITTEE had before them a despatcn

from the Governor of Hong Kong covering

correspondence with the naval and military

authorities concerning the site of the

proposed wireless station. (I.C.C. 1328.)

MR. VERNON informed the Committee that

he had heard from Sir Easil Blackett that it

was intended to erect the wireless station on

the Island, and the question of the site as

regards the defence aspect therefore solved

itself.

Apart from the permanent agreement reement

there was to be a transitional agreement

whereby the wireless station would be run as

a joint concern until the permanent agreement

came into force.

The only question

remaining was as to whether the Admiralty

were satisfied as regards the question of

interference.

CAPTAIN DORLING said that the naval station

was some distance away from the site of the

proposed station and no interference was,

therefore, anticipated.

!

CONCLUSION.

It was agreed to take note of the above

papers.
